Mysterious Wonders

All along the block

The people herded like cattle

And waited in the line

Something was happening

Something big

And I was out of the loop

I wasn’t invited

And I was not at all interested

So I passed the people

Who stood like corpses of shuffling dead

No one was talking

They all just looked straight forward

And waiting

Waiting, for this big thing

This mysterious wonder

I passed each by

And thought about how long the line was

And I smiled

Because, to me, nothing in life

Is worth a standing and shuffling

For that long

I hope, for their sake

It was worth it

      1. They forgot to tell me about it as well. So I torched the place.

Thus, I shall say: Happy Birthday! Hopefully, one day I shall buy you not only the pints I once promised, but a much more amusing ‘libation’ to honor all the laughs and smiles you have given me, ;c)

        1. So that’s what all the smoke and sirens were all about. Well, thank you. I have now scratched that off my list of things to do tomorrow. And as far as the pints and amusing “libations”, you know I can’t wait. I think it will be a night to remember. Note to self…Bail money. Thank you, dear. You’re one in a million and worth your weight in gold.

              1. it fizzled early, all of us were pretty tired and cranky, and either we all have the same cold or we’re all allergic to the pollen in the air, because no one was feeling great. I was in bed before 10 which was fine with me.

                    1. Oh yeah. I go to the strip for my summer job and that’s about it. Otherwise we’re just hanging out at someone’s house, sometimes well hit a local bar or lounge but that’s usually the extent of it.
