danger

(one by one)

one by one they fall

drops from a darkening sky

tears from the heavens

Harbor Of Early Morning Hours

The wasted fields and battered landscape

Were all that stood in the end

The chaos, the madness and the unbelievable

Still float in vulnerable harbors of our minds

There is nothing left now

And even the packs of wild hunting dogs

Are showing fear from the lacking

Nights are long and cold

Stay huddled for warmth and for protection

From those very bad and infested memories

Which fill our lifeless and barren dreamscapes

In these, the longest, coldest and darkest times of night

Stalker

I leave the pub around eight

The crowd doesn’t fit my mood

Being a cool night, I choose to walk

Passing on the crowded streets

I catch a glimpse of you

A small chill runs up my neck

Caused by your piercing eyes

I’ve seen you before

But I can’t place where or when

Quickly thoughts are redirected

Thoughts of my lonely hovel

And my long walk ahead

I never noticed your change in direction

The wind quickened and howled all the way home

You were never more than twenty paces behind

As I quickened, so did you

As I stopped to roll a smoke, you took to the shadows

As I arrived at my abode, you watched as I turned the key

As I fixed a nightcap, you let yourself in

As I write this, you come closer

And as I turn, you deliver the blow

Stormy Seas

I rock back and forth

To and fro

Side to side

My sail has snapped

The rudder is gone

Any controlling agent

Or influence over direction

Has left my grasp for good

In the galley, plates smash

Pots and pans swing in the toss

The hull has taken water

Through the shattered forward hatch

I’m now locked in the head

Forced to stay

Until Poseidon’s blinding rage

Finally calls me down

When The Collector Met Joe The Spider

The boy thought he saw something

Out of the corner of his eye

He put down his magnifying glass

And got out of his chair

He slowly crept towards the corner

Sliding his socks on the floor

As if lifting his feet might give him away

He peeked around the cabinet

And saw him there

‘Hello’, said the collector to the big hairy spider

‘hello back’, said the spider to the pray

‘You’d make a nice addition to my collection’, the collector whispered

‘Wait’, remarked the spider

‘I know where you sleep

And as you turn away

I’ll hide in plain sight

And wait patiently

until you go to bed

then I’ll dine on you

From the inside to the out’

‘No matter’, said the collector to the spider

‘I’ll take my chances’

And with that, the collector hurried away to grab a jar

All the time in the world

For the spider to move

Just behind the bedpost

Night’s Work

Cross room glances

Eyebrow raised with bad intentions

Big cat on a prowl

Sinister thoughts

Morbid outcomes

Thoughts that consume this night

Heavy rains and a smash of thunder

Time to get this show on the road

Pick an interest

Find something of a common ground

Something praiseworthy

Something keen

Move in

Go for the kill

All in a night’s work

Lost

A two-day drive

No one knows I’m here

Never told anybody

Out all alone, just me

And a camera

Without food, without water

Without any direction or sense

Every direction in view gives no answers

East – Sand

North – Dunes

West – Dead brushes

South – Only footprints

I have to move

Keep moving

Keep that wagon wheel turning

So I continue

Left, right, left, right

One foot in front of the other

One foot in front of the next

Got to keep this steady pace

Death is blowing on my neck

The devil reaching for my feet

Got to keep this steady pace

One foot in front of the other

Left, right, left, right

A New Perfume

Violence causes silence

We’ve both heard that before

But I have never been this deaf before

I just stare at you

I just look at you

And I wonder

Where will you take the body?

Will she go where the rest have gone?

Who do you expect to help you now?

Shirley, not this man

For I have a family, a wife

I have children, you see?

This just doesn’t work

This just doesn’t help… Me

(Think, think)

I hope you understand

I’d help you, if I could

But, now is not the time

So

Because of this

Come close

Hold on to me

And I’ll take care of this

This will be the one and only time

Hold on to me

Yes, yes

Just like before

I guess I’ll deal with it

But wait…

But before you let me go

Before you leave my arms

I have something for you

Something I’ve been saving for you

Close your eyes…

Shh…Shhh

Now close your eyes, girl

And breathe deep, feel my love

Don’t fight

Don’t squirm, don’t even fret a bit

It’s better that way

Smell that?

That’s a new perfume for you

They call it chloroform
