I agree, although dying young does leave this mystique behind. Perhaps they preferred it to letting their fans watch them grow fat and old and slowly fade away. Their hard lifestyle of drugs and alcohol also drove a lot of their creativity. In some more than others. I mean try to think of what Morrison would have been had he taken to juicing and the gym instead. Let’s admit he would have lost a lot of his appeal. Maybe we would have never heard of him. Maybe for these types we couldn’t have one without the other. That being said, I prefer to stay on this earth as long as possible, even if my creativity has to suffer for it. I don’t believe for me that it does though, not a whole lot anyway.

Ah yes, the 27 club..Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jim Hendrix…I know there’s a bunch more on the list.
